How Plastic Makes You Fat
BPA and phthalates are chemicals found in plastic products that have caused an increase in obesity and diabetes over the past decades. While it is true that manufacturers have decreased the use of BPA (Bisphenol-A), this has led them to use BPS (Bisphenol-S) and other variants that are not flagged by the FDA or media. Multiple research studies have overwhelmingly confirm these chemical have a significant effect on obesity and diabetes in both humans and even our pets.
BPAs have been show to disrupt multiple hormone system in the body leading to altered reproductive health, glucose regulation and adipose (fat) cell signaling. BPA even triggers the increased production of fat cells!
Some of the top offenders of this chemical onslaught to our bodies are from plastic-lined cans, most significant was canned tuna and soup. Other things to look out for are receipt paper; yes, even just a quick touch at the checkout line can give you a dose of BPAs.
Good news is that if you do not come into contact with the chemicals, the body can get rid of them with some nutritional assistance. Since BPAs and phthalates have an affinity for fat, our fat cells hold onto them; and the more obese a person is, the higher the levels are in the body.
Before you go and start the next “fat loss diet” or fad that is sweeping the nation, get a customized strategy to help your body lose weight and toxins, safely. The last thing you want is to release them from your fat cells and then reabsorb them!
